Duke of Edinburgh Award

Welcome to the DofE at Astor College!


This year we are launching the Award at Astor for current year 9 students with an aim to grow and expand the Award in the coming years. 


The Duke of Edinburgh Award is the world’s leading achievement award for young people, and is highly regarded by universities, colleges and employers. The Award has 3 levels Bronze, Silver and Gold and is a programme of voluntary activities that challenges young people to experience adventure, acquire new skills and to serve others. It is split into four sections; Volunteering, Physical, Skill, and Expedition. More information can be found about the Award at


This year at Astor College we are running the Bronze DofE Award through an Approved Activity Provider (AAP) for all year 9s who are interested. The cost of the award is £169, however, there is funding available for those that cannot afford the fee (this is allocated on a case by case basis).


The deposit deadline is Friday 14th February 2020 and is accessible through ParentMail. 


The expedition section of the award will take place as follows:

Training and Practice Expedition: Friday 19th - Saturday 20th June

Qualifying Expedition: Tuesday 14th - Wednesday 15th July 2020
